One of the least talked about subjects... Or is it ? This subject is near and dear to my heart;
because I have been through it many times, sometimes even daily....
What I would like you to know is when depression sets in, it literally is up to each one of us to reach out for help, support, assistance and love! Forgive me if I ramble here... Sometimes things just flow out of me to say. I am not an expert on the subject, but I do have experience with it and have since I was a child. I am 50 years old now and I have been through my share of shit in life. Ups and downs! I prefer the ups obviously but why does it feel like depression lingers or it's hard to see any trust/hope faith that it will ever go away or release from our bodies/minds/heart/ and cells?
Depression, I feel... stems from many various things.
Childhood traumas, trauma from relationships, car accidents, other accidents, which by the way aren't really accidents, someone broke up with us, we got divorced, family and loved ones pass away. We lost an amazing job, or even a shitty one that we needed so we thought! There is something that ultimately happened such that we feel less than happy, normal or above average on any given day or time on our path. (Ask yourself, how do I rate my appiness on a scale of 0-10? Anything less than an 9/10 could deserve to be addressed.
These things happen to us for a reason. We are meant to learn from them, these so called accidents, and gain valuable life lessons from all of these situations and opportunities is what I call them.
{Accidents} Are someone's inactive consciousness slip ups. Someone is not present and loses focus or sight of what they are doing in the moment such that causes another ripple effect to spiral.
What does the word accident actually mean ? Let's look, here below is the definition I found on Google.
(ac·ci·dent) means-
1. an unfortunate incident that happens unexpectedly and unintentionally, typically resulting in damage or injury. "I will add here that as I said above, someone was NOT actively conscious, not paying attention!"
2. an event that happens by chance or that is without apparent or deliberate cause.
"the pregnancy was an accident" "I will add here... "What even?" "No this is because two people did not take precautions or choose to use protection or to not have sex at all."
With that all said another reason for depression could be and most likely is- {Malnourishment- and nutritional deficiencies} if you will. Which is the main reason for depression in my personal opinion and experience.
Also a lot of what we experience is created by our beliefs and what we personally focus on. Sounds odd right ? "Have you studied and learned about the Law Of Attraction?" Which simply states that "What we focus our time, attention and energy on is what we create in our lives, what we put out into the world and the universe is what we get back!"
So then the question is how do we heal from these things?
We can first start by acknowledging that something feels off, something feels out of alignment with ourselves, our lives, family, loved ones, friends or our work environments. We can ask for someone to listen to our thoughts and ask them to offer suggestions or options, maybe that I could speak to a counselor, therapist or mentor about what we are feeling and experiencing.
More Suggestions:
We could ask a family member or friend for suggestions.
We could see a doctor and ask questions and ask for referrals.
We could take some time out of off of our current situations, take a break!
We could do our own personal research and look for homeopathic remedies.
We could get out into nature and enjoy the sunshine. Even just 5 or 10 minutes is so supportive.
We could start taking B- vitamins and vitamin D up to 10,000 i.u. per day is a good start.
*(working with a mentor or doctor on this too)
We could increase healthier ways of eating and being.
We could increase our water intake upon waking up first thing in the morning.
Water has a huge impact on our cells and brain function.
We could journal and write our feelings out and burn the pages, or tear them up.
We could ask for a hug from someone. We could ask to be held by our loved ones.
We could get body work; massages, sound baths, float spa soaking, yoga or implement personal fitness regimes.
We could increase our activity physically, stretching more often, walking, parking further away from doors etc...
The point is loves there is so much to consider when we have a desire to create feeling our optimal best 10's and feeling good every day! Is it possible ? I used to wonder, and cry a lot! I didn't even know feeling amazing was an option, much less feeling good every day! But guess what? I discovered that it is truly possible, with baby steps. One step at a time.
